Can you see the lights as far as the eyes can see,
from this point about the world,
where mortals dare their destiny
As it radiates, may I witness open eyed
Let me remain where there is light

We live in a foam of technology, and we will do so even more intensely in the future. Today, I got a shipment containing my new Sandisk Sansa Clip (yay!), which is a really nice mp3-player. Unfortunately, I haven’t noticed in time that there is already a newer Sansa Clip+, which is available here at the same price. Anyway, I don’t need more than 2GB of music, because I almost only listen to VNV Nation songs right now (Reformation 01 was in that shipment, too). Forget that iPod music stuff! It’s much too expensive and the white earplugs don’t fit to dark outfits (you wear black, too, don’t you ;) ). And did I mention that I use Kubuntu Linux? Although that operating system is not yet compatible to everything, the transfer of my .ogg files to my Sandisk Sansa Clip was a 100% plug-and-play task!

Other interesting contemporary technology and related stuff can be found at Thoughtware.TV, like 3d-printers, Augmented Earth, E-Memory software, robotic unicycles or non-audible murmur microphones. There are even videos which explain nanofactories and why neoliberalism can be seen as a water baloon. If you aren’t intrested in that stuff, there’s still something you must hear, namely a speech with the title Happiness, Virtue, And Transcendence In A Neurotechnological Future, which examines the conflict lines and possible compatibilities(!) of transhumanism and religious ideas.

Enough for today. We are the Life!

There are some nice places of life in this thingy you can the world wide web. Some of them I have found more or less recently:

  1. IEEE: On the IEEE Spectrum Online site there is a special report on the Singularity, whichs offers some interesting insights, for example into the economics of the Singularity.
  2. IEET: Here you can find the Italian Transhumanist Manifesto, and find out with the overview of biopolitics if you are a technoprogressive like me or not.
  3. H+ Cafe: This place was intended to give transhumanists a community place, but strangely hasn’t become too popular. Perhaps, a miracle happens and it will become popular because I’m posting about it here ;)
  4. PETA: On the PETA Living blog there are some easy peasy tips for the new vegan. So, if you are not a vegan yet, you can get some help there.
  5. Roots of Compassion: This week I ordered some wearable stuff on that site. They even sell vegan shoes! Yay!
  6. VNV Nation: I’m listening to the newest album of my favourite band right now: On Faith, Power and Glory. Interestingly, you probably need some time to get used to the sounds of VNV Nation, but once your minds get’s adapted to that music, it will find out that it’s absolutely great. Sentinel is my favourite song on the latest album. Pro Victoria is the best intro I ever heared, but would have been even more awesome as full length song. Every other song on that album is pretty good, except Art of Conflict and From My Hands, which I don’t like too much. This blog entry’s title is an allusion to the last song Where There Is Light.

We are the life!
